Murray Man is 6

I can't believe it's been 6 years since I became a believer that a girl can fall in love with a boy in an instant. That moment I held you, stared into your eyes and made a final debate about your name. I'm so glad we chose Murray, you're such an amazing Murray Man and it suits you so well.

You're such an amazing little man Murray. You are kind, sensitive and full of life and love. You are all boy, loving anything rough and tumble, competitive in almost everything you do. You love your bow and arrow, nerf guns and wrestling and fighting "ninja style". You also can spend hours building with legos, kicking a ball or racing around in the backyard.

I am so proud of who you are growing into. You are considerate of others and are extremely well attuned to others wants and needs. This is evident everyday in the way you play so kindly with Ginny and Wiley and on occasion used against Lucy to "push her buttons" and get her fired up, but usually you get along well with her also.

We celebrated your birthday a few days early while up in Traverse City with a Moomers ice cream cake and great friends around. The Bauer's and the Troxel's. It was fun to share your special day with them since your actual birthday Daddy had to leave for a trip.

We love you Murray Man, I can't believe you're 6! I can't believe what a smart, funny, sensitive, and strong young man you are becoming. I can't wait to see what this next year of life has in store for you. It is a joy to share  life with you and watch you grow.

Go Pack Go!

Ginny has just witnessed her 7th Packers Victory.

She's loving watching football with Daddy and thinks winning is sweet even without ever experiencing defeat...here's hoping Ginny has to wait until Next season for that.

Either way...we're all smiles about the Packers in the Koschmann house!

(Pictures taken during previous games...we were doing yard work throughout the game so pictures were not taken today!)

What We've Been Up To

Here's a glimpse at what we've been up to (aside from meeting our new niece Betsy)...

We've had a few super hot days here in Michigan followed by some cooler rainy days. It finally seems to be evening out! We're now to more "normal" summer weather and the windows are open and we're just enjoying being able to grill, clean out the car and play on the swing set. I wish I had a bit more motivation and flexibility to attack the weeds in our garden...but eh...once this sweet girl arrives I doubt I'll even notice them anymore!

We do need to acknowledge that both of these wonderful activities were birthday gifts! Aunt Kate and Uncle Kelly supplied the warm weather fun with a great new sprinkler (perfect for races through and spraying at people) and Auntie Katie and Uncle Tony (aka Owie Owie and Tony No Hair) supplied the rainy day fun. I can't believe the animals set in less than an hour so we mixed, molded and painted all before nap! Both were great activities!!

Brothers and Sisters

Growing up in a house with girls made me acutely aware of what life was like with sisters...the good, the bad...and the ugly (which usually involved borrowing someones clothes without asking). Now having Lucy and Murray I'm introduced to a whole new world of brothers and sisters and what they bring to the table for each other!

A few things I've learned is that they expose each other to things they wouldn't know about if they were both boys...or both girls...here's a few examples...

Murray loves playing with Lucy's doll house and Barbies...princesses...
really anything. I love to find him by himself playing in her room.

Wrestling! This has been such a great one to watch develop. As
Murray has grown, they've started wrestling more on their own
without Nick home...it's funny to see Murray start to be able to
"take Lucy down" and Lucy struggle to keep up with
his intensity...but she's still in the game!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures...just a few things the kids have been up to lately that make me enjoy them and the ways they're growing!
