Oh Murray Man

I told Murray he needed to get dressed before he could play outside...he wanted to stay in his pj's all day. Beint the wonderful boy he is, he's all politician and compromise (he'll make a great husband some day) This is what he came up with...he stayed in it all day...until bedtime when he requested new pj's...what will tomorrow bring?

Thankful Thursdays

Our garden produced SOMETHING!!! This is all that escaped the bunny...we have a few more carrots to pick and a few green tomatoes...I'm excited 1 sugar peas plant survived and is producing minimal peas, but at least it's a taste...I'm thankful for a taste.

Lucy is very excited about the carrots, although she did think they'd be bigger...I was impressed the rabbits didn't eat them!

So thankful for a few tasty treats from the garden!

Evangeline Kate is 1 Month Old!!

I had hoped to make adorable iron ons for onsies...like I'm doing for my dear niece Betsy...or take a picture with a lovable stuffed animal to show Ginny's growth...unfortunately Ginny is the 3rd child...so a day late I realized those things would not happen...I could borrow yet another idea from my wonderfully crafty and talented photographer friend Jamie. I could take a picture on our calendar each month. This was great for 2 reasons...1, it's easy; 2, it helps me remember what month it was taken in. I LOVE this idea...thanks Jamie for all your wonderful ideas!

Ginny's Baptism Up Close!

Here's a few highlights from Ginny's Baptism Weekend
in a totally random and no particular order (sorry)...
Olivia LOVED holding baby Ginny...I'm pretty sure she would have held her all day if we let her!

This is the most still I have EVER seen Murray sit in church. It was after the
service of course, and he was enthralled with the drums!

Evangeline Kate, baptized August 7th. She wore the "Murray" baptismal gown and a necklace from her Great Grandma Eve whom she's named after.

Big Sisters Olivia and Lucy

Koschmann family and Rudzinski family...oh how I wished we lived closer!

Koschmann Party of 5!

Yum! Nick made ribs (and chicken and corn)...

My last minute cake...it turned out pretty well
(there will be another post about this as it was the most delicious cake I've ever made
and I MUST share the recipe I found!)

Chloe holding Ginny...she is also baby obsessed...all the babies in my house were using all the baby equipment all weekend long...Ginny had to wait her turn to use the swing, car seat, bed, bouncy seat etc...adorable (since it was only for the weekend...)

Ginny was pooped after a long, super fun day...she just watched me clean up from the kitchen counter (don't worry...her daddy was standing right there by her!)

Thankful Thursdays

Nap time is about to come to end...well, quiet time...no one except Ginny is napping today...

Here's my quick list of things I'm thankful for today/this week...

Today I am thankful for cooler weather! This is only the 2nd time since Ginny has been born that we have been able to open windows....it's amazing to feel a cool breeze coming from a window instead of a hole in our ceiling

30 finger and 30 toes...yep...I'm still basking in new mom thankfulness...I can't help it....I really like my kids...and their fingers and toes! So yep...altogether I'm thankful for 30 of them (well really 50...b/c if I'm honest I'm thankful Nick and I have fingers and toes...but ours aren't as cute).

I'm thankful my first day back to having extra kids around my house is going so well...this is again being thankful for Ginny being such an easy going baby...she makes lots of transitions much smoother by just being content!

A new cake recipe to try and a reason to test it out! I can't wait to see the Rudzinski family coming this weekend to be Ginny's sponsors at her baptism. I also can't wait for the yummy dinner we're having to thank them for sharing this special occasion and to thank the wonderful friends who helped take care of the big kids while I was at the hospital.

This week I'm thankful that my husband is surviving and enjoying Junior High VBS...it's the highest attended year and you can tell by all the extra time he's putting in.

My other thankful is in correlation to this...I'm so thankful that my mother in law and sister in law were able to visit this week. It's been great to have company while Nick is gone at work and even greater to have help with the kids and around the house. My mother in law doesn't like to sit still very long, so that means my floors have been washed, the garden has been weeded (a bit...seriously no one can tame my beast of a garden) and the kitchen cupboards have been wiped down...what more could a new mom ask for!?! All this a midst special activities for the kids and lots and lots of playing with Grandma...

All in all...a lot to be thankful for this week!

3 weeks and 3 years!

This morning Aunt Kate and I took Ginny and Murray to the doctor for some check ups. Murray's 3 year check up (yes, a little late...we're doing his 3 year old pictures tomorrow) and Ginny's 3 week check up (right on time).

Here are the stats from the check up:

Ginny: 10 lbs 8 oz and 22 inches long, head circumference 37 3/4 cm

Murray: 34.5 lbs and 40 inches tall, blood pressure 88/58

I have two healthy kids. Murray did need 1 shot and it was his first that he'll remember...it wasn't very fun, but he did well and I took him for a treat after. I suggested a happy meal and he asked if Lucy could have one too, so we picked up 2 special lunches and then picked Lucy up from VBS to share our treat.

It was Kate's first "kid" doctor experience and she got to experience the "mommy guilt" that goes with shots. From now on though, Murray will remember that the shots hurt and then feel better...so hopefully there will be less guilt involved on my end of things for him. I hate knowing it's going to hurt him and him having no clue of what's coming.

Thankful for healthy kids though!
